Community Guidelines

PrayerConnect is a prayer community for churches, small groups, and believers. These Community Guidelines exist to keep that space safe, respectful, and focused on its purpose: sharing and supporting prayer requests in a way that reflects Christian love and dignity.

These guidelines are in addition to our Terms of Service and EULA. By using PrayerConnect you agree to follow them.

What we welcome

  • Prayer requests for yourself, family, community, and the world.
  • Comments of encouragement, scripture, and sincere support.
  • Follow-up updates on prayers — including answered prayers and ongoing needs.
  • Respectful theological variety. Christians pray differently, and that’s OK.

Zero tolerance

The following content and conduct is not permitted on PrayerConnect. Violations will result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent account termination.

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any user, including through comments, prayer requests, or account names.
  • Hate speech — content attacking or demeaning people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Violent or threatening content — including threats of self-harm, harm to others, or content that glorifies violence.
  • Sexual content — no pornography, sexual solicitation, or sexually explicit language.
  • Illegal activity — including content that depicts, encourages, or facilitates illegal acts.
  • Impersonation — misrepresenting yourself as another person, organization, or ministry.
  • Spam and commercial solicitation — repeated promotional content, links to unrelated products or services, multi-level marketing recruitment, fundraising for non-affiliated causes.
  • Doxxing or sharing private information — do not post other people’s full names, addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying information without their consent, even in a prayer request about them.
  • Deceptive behavior — creating multiple accounts to evade moderation, using false information to gain sympathy, coordinated brigading.
  • Medical, financial, or legal advice presented as fact — PrayerConnect is not a professional services platform. Do not use it to practice medicine, dispense legal counsel, or provide financial planning.

Sensitive topics handled with care

Prayer often involves hard things — illness, grief, addiction, mental health struggles, family conflict. These topics are welcome on PrayerConnect when shared thoughtfully. Please:

  • Protect privacy. If your prayer is about someone else, consider whether that person would be comfortable seeing it shared. Use a first name or initial rather than full details.
  • Be mindful with triggering content. If your prayer discusses suicide, self-harm, or abuse in detail, consider whether those details are necessary or whether a general framing serves just as well.
  • If you are in crisis, please reach out to a professional. In the U.S., call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. PrayerConnect is not a substitute for professional care.

How moderation works

  1. Automatic filtering. Every prayer request is reviewed by our AI moderation system before it becomes visible. Requests that may violate these guidelines are held for manual review.
  2. User reporting. You can report any prayer, comment, or update that you believe violates these guidelines. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 24 hours.
  3. User blocking. You can block any user at any time. Their content disappears from your feed instantly and they cannot comment on your prayers. Manage blocks in Privacy Settings.
  4. Moderator action. When content or conduct violates these guidelines, we may remove the content, issue a warning, suspend the account, or permanently terminate the account. Severity depends on the nature and pattern of the violation.

If your account is suspended

You will receive an email explaining the suspension. If you believe it was in error, you may appeal by replying to that email or contacting prayer@prayerconnect.church within 30 days. We will review appeals and respond within three (3) business days.

Reporting safety concerns

If you see content that suggests someone is in danger, or if you believe a user is engaged in illegal activity, please contact us directly at prayer@prayerconnect.church in addition to using the in-app report feature. For emergencies, contact local emergency services first.

Changes to these guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Material changes will be announced with an updated “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of PrayerConnect after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
