Delete Your PrayerConnect Account

You can request deletion of your PrayerConnect account and all associated data at any time. There are two ways to do this.

Option 1 — In the app or website (recommended)

Sign in to PrayerConnect (mobile app or prayer.prayerconnect.church).
Open the menu and tap Privacy Settings.
Scroll to the Delete My Account section.
Tap Request Account Deletion and confirm.
Your account enters a 7-day grace period. You can cancel the request at any time during this window by returning to Privacy Settings and tapping Cancel Deletion.
After 7 days, all of your data is permanently removed.

Option 2 — Email request

If you cannot access the app, email prayer@prayerconnect.church from the email address on your account. State clearly that you want your PrayerConnect account deleted. We will process the request within 7 days of verification.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

Your name, email address, and profile information
All prayer requests you created (including generated prayer text)
All comments and prayer updates you posted
Your organization memberships and invitations
Your “prayed for this” records and prayer subscriptions
Your notification preferences and push-notification device tokens
Your consent log entries
Your prayer view history

What is kept (and why)

Aggregate, anonymized statistics — prayer counts, organization membership counts, and other statistics that do not reference you personally may be retained for organization reporting. These cannot be used to identify you.
Email delivery logs at our provider (Mailgun) — our email service provider retains delivery records for up to 30 days per their standard policy. These logs contain only the email address and delivery status, not prayer content.
Legally required records — if we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g., in response to a subpoena), we will do so for the minimum period required by law.

Data retention timeline

Our retention schedule for deleted accounts:

Days 0–7 (grace period): Account marked for deletion. Reversible at any time by the user.
Day 8: Account and all associated data permanently removed from our database.
Up to 30 days: Email delivery logs at Mailgun age out.
Backups: Our encrypted database backups are retained for 30 days on a rolling basis. Deleted data persists in backups until those backups naturally expire.
